Ms. Erika

Erika-Leigh Howard (née Stirton)  is a graduate of the University of Guelph and the School of Toronto Dance Theatre. As an independent artist, Erika has performed with blackandblue Dance Projects, Forcier Stage Works, Joe Lott Dance (UK), Kate Hilliard, Kemi Contemporary Dance Projects, Mercenary Dance Theatre, Sylvain Émard Danse, TILT sound + motion, Zata Omm Dance Projects and the Crazyfish Collective, of which she is a founding member. She has trained with such notable teachers as Patricia Miner, Risa Steinberg, and Christine Wright. In 2006-2007 she was the Metcalf Foundation intern at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre where she gained valuable knowledge and experience in administration, rehearsal direction, and teaching.

Erika’s passion for movement evolved from her experience as an elite rhythmic gymnast. She represented Canada at three World Championships and the Pan American Games; holds five National Championship titles and five gold medals from the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

Currently, Erika lives in London (ON) with her family. She is passionate about helping people of all ages integrate their mind, body, and souls through yoga, somatic movement, dance and choreography. For more see: www.erikahoward.com
